Cheetahs can have up to 8 cubs according to agarman’s Cheetah Facts. But the average tends to be between 2 to 5 cubs. The litter of cheetah’s in captivty is 3.5 cubs.
Cheetahs usually give birth to three cubs at a time. The cubs stay with their mother for about 1 1/2 to 2 years, where they learn how to hunt. Once they become independent, male cheetahs leave their mother and live by themselves or with their brothers.
