We can’t really answer that, because as many writers have noted, simply defining a green collar job is difficult. Do they include educated positions, for example? If you’re talking about the less education-intensive, construction and installation-oriented jobs, the average is probably youngish. People can get a green collar job right out of high school, with some training. And given that it’s a new industry, most green collar workers are probably 20-something.
It is hard to pinpoint the exact age. There is no real, reliable data for that. However, I imagine the average age would be rather young. The more experienced workers would much older than 20. However, as green programs in colleges are growing, the age for this group would get even younger.
