Nitrogen oxide is most commonly emitted in the exhaust fumes of cars. Catalytic converters could reduce this pollution. Not driving cars very often is an even better solution.
Sulfur dioxide is most commonly emitted through coal-burning power plants. This is a good reason to lobby against the construction of such plants, especially when alternative forms of energy are available.

There are many clever ways to circumvent these harmful gases, such as not using or supporting machines that emit them.
