I believe that one area of the world that has been understudied by ecologists and conservation biologists is the deep ocean. Obviously, this is due to the fact that this area is hard to be perceived by human eyes, and only recently technological advancements have allowed exploration of these areas. There are so many species that are yet to be discovered down there, as so many new ones are found in expeditions. Damaging this area of the earth through bottom trawling and ocean pollution should be regulated and studied, so that biodiversity is not destroyed.
