I’m not sure about the continental United States, but Puerto Rico is very bad for allergies. The island gets dust carried through the jet stream from the sahara as well as pollen issues. This actually causes a great deal of asthma cases in the island.
It depends what you’re allergic to. Dry, dusty, desert areas can produce particles floating in the air that can trigger allergies, but so can large amounts of pollen in wetter areas and forests. Pollution and smog can also contribute to environmental allergies, since the air is dirtier. Hay fever is also triggered by dusty particles in the air, as well as grass and pollen.
