Much of the wood is being harvested, as it creates a fire hazard, and used to make flooring, cabinets and furniture. There also may be a potential to use it as a fuel source in small scale energy projects. Some artists and craftsmen are using the woods blue tint, caused by the fungus that actually kills the tree, to make signs and decorative items.
