There are six different species of sloth in the world. They all belong to the families of Magalonychidae (two-toed) and Bradypodidae (three-toed). The three roed species are the Pygmy Three-toed Sloth, Maned Three-toed Sloth, and the Pale-throated Three-toed Sloth. The other three species are the Brown-throated Sloth, Linne’s Two-toed Sloth, and the Hoffmann’s Two-toed Sloth. There used to be many more species of sloth but they have long been extinct.
