What are the trees cut down in the rainforest used for?

There are several reasons why the trees in the rain forest are cut down. The most obvious reason for cutting down trees in the rain forest is for logging, and using the lumber to build.

However, there are other reasons for deforestation of the rain forest. The land that is left after the trees are cut down is often used for cattle farming, growing vegetation in the rich soil, creating dams and mining for oil and other materials.
