The acacia tree is the dominant woody tree across africa, and there are 700 species of it. Almost all parts of the tree are edible.
The Acacia tree has a symbiotic relationship with ants. The tree provides tunnels for the ants to crawl through and fruit for food. In return, the ants protect the tree from herbivores by stinging them.
