What are the synthetic trees that can scrub carbon made of?

    These synthetic “trees” are not actually trees, but towers that feature a plastic resin similar to the kind that pulls calcium out of the water in a water softener. This resin is then impregnated with a sodium carbonate which will cause it to pull carbon dioxide out of the air and trap it. If we installed 10 million of these towers, we could pull and trap about 1/10th of the Co2 that the world produces each year!

    Another cool method of trapping carbon is with ultramafic rocks that essentially do the same thing – pull and trap the carbon from the air.
