What are the symptoms of cystic fibrosis?

    There are many symptoms of cystic fibrosis, and symptoms of the disease vary depending upon the person that it is affecting. However, here are the most general symptoms of the disease.

    All subjects:

    Belly pain (from severe constipation)
    Coughing; increased mucus level in sinuses/lungs
    Other respiratory problems (ex. pneumonia, sinusitis)
    Stool problems: pale/clay color; bad smell; floating
    Weight loss

    In children:

    Delayed growth
    Failure to gain weight at a normal rate

    In infants:

    Salty-tasting skin
    (First 1-2 days) No bowel movements
