Super Greenhouse Gases, or Super-GHGs, are gases that have a global warming potential many times (sometimes thousands of times) more than CO2. Hydroflourocarbons, or HFCs, are Super Greenhouse Gases, and are used mainly in refrigeration systems. They are synthetic materials designed to replace the gases that were earlier identified with causing ozone problems. As it turns out, the replacement is worse than the original.
Super greeh house gases are gasses created by our technologies that not only deplete the ozone layer but also put a layer between the ozone layer and space that gives heat rising from the Earth and instead of being able to flow away into space it reflects the heat back to the Earth creating the “global warming” trend we are seeing now.
