One good way is to give all your windows an extra layer of seasonal insulation. All you need is some tape and a sheet of bubble wrap at least as big as the window. Spray water on the window glass, and then tape the bubble wrap over the window, making sure the seal is airtight. This will cause the window to act as a greenhouse does, absorbing heat when the sun shines in and trapping it, thus reducing the energy needed to heat your house.
