With minimal thought and logic, you should be able to come up with a long list of ways on your own. In fact it is inconceivable to me that anyone cannot do so on his or her own.
Hurricanes adversely impact coastal areas to a large degree. Most common is shoreline erosion which consequently threatens human residences and ecosystem boundaries. Additionally, storm surges and elevated sea levels are produced during a hurricane and can wash dangerous amounts of water onto land, destroying virtually anything. After Hurricane Katrina in 2005, wildlife habitats were wiped out entirely.
