Epsom salt is an incredibly versatile mineral compound that has a wide variety of uses.  It can reduce inflammation and relieve muscle cramps as well as help form joint proteins, brain tissue and mucin proteins.  Epsom salt has also been used as an exfoliant and a stress reliever.  It can also be used in gardening to help seeds germinate, increase foliage production, and improve the phosphorus and nitrogen uptake in your plants.

Epsom salt can be used for many things – exfoliation of skin, fertilizer and even toothpaste!  Soaking your feet in warm water mixed with Epsom salt can soften and smooth corns.  It’s main benefits are magnesium and sulfates – magnesium is a great pain reliever so Epsom salt can soothe sore throats, muscles and headaches, and our body uses sulfates to generate brain tissue, proteins and digestive enzymes so Epsom salt can help detoxify as well.

Epsom salts have a lot of healing qualities; some body piercing aftercare involves a warm water and epsom salt soak. Also, epsom salt mixed with oily hair shampoo will help remove excess oil from troublesome hair.
