What are some sustainable materials I can use for siding?

Mineral fiber and cement-based sidings have an extremely long lifespan, which makes them considered sustainable. Stucco and brick are made from natural materials and will break down after their lifespan. Sustainably farmed wood, like cedar, is also a good choice. Use light, reflective colors in hot climates to save on heating and cooling loads.
