What are some signs of diabetes?

    From the American Diabetes Association, diabetes often goes undiagnosed because many of the symptoms seem so harmless.

    Type 1:
    Frequent urination
    Unusual thirst
    Extreme hunger
    Unusual weight loss
    Extreme fatigue and irritability

    Type 2:
    Any of type 1 symptoms
    Frequent infections
    Blurrred vision
    Cuts/bruises that are slow to heal
    Tingling/numbness in hands/feet
    Recurring skin, gum or bladder infections
    *OFten now symptoms at all

    The Mayo clinic lists diabetes symptoms with the warning that symptoms can be really subtle and are often attributed to different problems, and some diabetes sufferers can have it for years without any symptoms at all. Traditional symptoms include excessive thirst and increased urination because the increased sugar levels in the blood force kidneys to work harder and the excretion of sugar in urine, fatigue, weight loss, blurred vision, sores that are slow to heal or frequent infections, tingling hands and feet, and tender gums that are red and swollen. The Clinic suggests that if you have any of these symptoms you consult with your doctor to see if you may have diabetes.
