Pollution can be very harmful to humans, plants, and wildlife. Poor air quality can kill any and all wildlife including small organisms. Water pollution is also a huge killer globally. Over 14,000 people die each day from drinking polluted water. Water pollution also affects fish and, seafood and other wildlife that come into contact with the contaminated water.
Another big killer is pollution caused by contact with heavy metals. Mercury and lead, heavily used in mining and other industries, is known to cause neurological problems and birth defects.
