Robotic assisted surgery is a popular example of bioengineering. As someone who benefited from it, it is the most popular with me. It allows surgeons to operate without causing as much damage in accessing organs and other body parts.
A popular field of bioengineering is health. In this field, jobs are available for medical assistants, healthcare solutions specialists, medical technologist, pharmaceutical sales, and many others.
Bioengineering is defined as the application of technology to the fields of biology and medicine – artificial limbs, pacemakers, and dialysis machines are examples that are fairly commonplace today. More advanced fields like nanotechnology are exploring bioengineering practices that can essentially reconstruct our very cells – this could be huge in disease prevention/treatment.
