The earthquke in Haiti has made a significant ecological impact due to the magnitude of the disaster. Some health concerns include water-borne illnesses due to the displacement of water through flooding, and the leaking of toxic chemicals in the environment with from industrial waste. The United Nations Environment Programme reports that the largest problem is the building rubble from those that fell during the earthquake.
