Caffeine is naturally found in many substances. The most obvious, and popular, one is coffee. An 8 oz. serving of coffee usually has 133 mg of caffeine. Even “decaffeinated” coffee still contains around 5 mg. Most teas have caffeine as well.
Chocolate also naturally contains caffeine. It is found in the cocoa plant, used to make chocolate.
If you are looking for something naturally containing caffeine, this piece of information may be very useful. The FDA makes anything containing added caffeine, list it on the nutrition label. So if you see the word “caffeine” in the ingredients list, it is synthetic!
