The Civilian Conservation Corps implemented a natural resource conservation program, building parks on federal, state, county and city lands in every state as well as Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. They helped build the Highlands Hammock State Park in Sebring, Florida, the Backbone State Park in Strawberry Point, Iowa and the Pocahontas State Park in Chesterfield, Virginia.
