    1.  The largest telescope currently functioning in the world is named Gran Telescopio Canarias and is located in the Canary Islands of Spain.  Its diameter is 10.4 meters.

    2.  Hawaii has the second largest.  They are a pair of telescopes named Keck and Keck II both with a diameter of 10 meters.

    3.  The 3rd largest is in South Africa, is around 10 meters, and named SALT.
