If you were to quit smoking right now, believe or not, you would actually be able to see beneficial changes in your body in as little as 20 minutes!

In fact, after 20 minutes your blood pressure would fall back down to normal. In 8 hours, your oxygen levels will return to normal level, and the toxic gas of carbon monoxide levels your blood stream would be cut in half. In 2 days, all the nicotine will be out of your system, smell and taste levels would be back to normal, and your heart attack chances will have dropped. In 3 days, your bronchial tubes will be more relaxed and energy levels will be increased.

So you don’t even need to wait a long time in order to see that if you quit smoking, it will help your body right away.

You may see immediate changes in how you feel and perceive things.

Your senses will improve – food will taste better and your sense of smell (said to be the most important sense for memory) improves. Your apperance will improve – the yellowness of your teeth and fingernails will diminish. You will smell better. You will have more stamina when performing physical activities.

Granted, it may be hard at first, and you are likely to undergo some withdrawal symptoms (cravings, headaches) in the first few days. Hang in there!
