There are many positive health effects of drinking green tea. A study in 1994 published results indicating that drinking green tea reduced the risk of esophagel cancer in Chinese men and women by nearly 60%. There is also research indicating that green tea lowers total cholesterol levels, as well as improving the ratio of good (HDL) cholesterol vs bad (LDL) cholesterol.
Extensive research has also shown that green tea has the potential to reduce heart disease. Other limited studies have shown that it may play in role in reducing cholesterol, burning fat, preventing diabetes and stroke, and even staving off dementia. These limited studies are still in the works but there has been no denying that green tea contains many antioxidents and other compounds that all help maintain good health.
