If you have a garden that you attend to, the food that you grow on your own will always be greener than food you buy, especially if you don’t use fertilizers or pesticides. Consider cutting out meat as much as possible, especially beef, because meats are heavy water and energy users. Avoid processed foods. Focus on fruits, vegetables, and grains, and buy organic if you can. Fertilizers and pesticides are very energy intensive and thus have a large carbon footprint.
