According to Steve Jobs, the iPad is made with no arsenic, mercury, BPA, PVC, and is easily recyclable.
The iPad has arsenic-free display glass and a mercury-free LCD display. It does not contain BFR (Brominated Flame Retardant) or PVC (Polyvinyl Chloride), and the aluminum and glass encasing on the iPad is recyclable.
Arsenic and mercury are poisonous and can be found in a variety of commercial products. BFRs are suspected of being harmful to people and pets, and PVC can be cause for concern due to the harmful additives to the plastic.
