Betterworldbooks.com, the “green” version of Amazon, has a nice list of books on sustainable business. The top ones have high reviews and after reading the reviews, seem like interesting reads. The first on the list is The Sustainable MBA by Giselle Weybrecht, which provides the basics on what sustainability actually means for a business as well as tools to implement yourself, to introduce to your team, and eco-friendly trends happening in the business world.
3P has also released a “best of” list of some of the best sustainable business books out there. This list was compiled from a reader poll which means that all the books listed were read by many and praised by many. The book that received the most votes was Strategy For Sustainability: A Business Manifesto, a strategy book, written by Adam Werbach, former President of the Sierra Club and Global CEO of sustainability consulting firm Saatchi & Saatchi S. Also on the list are “In Defense of Food”, ” Cradle to Cradle”, and the “Ecology of Commerce” which I have read and highly recommend. One of my favorite books on sustainaility in the business world is Ray Anderson’s Mid-Course Correction: Toward a Sustainable Enterprise: The Interface Model. The book is inspirational and gives a great model for corporate America to follow in order to achieve sustainability.
