One good one on global warming is “Greenhouse” by Gale Christiansen. It takes a more historical approach to explaining global warming and mixes that with standard scientific explanations.
Al Gore’s “Earth in the Balance” was a national bestseller and a good read. It has a lot of the same arguments later put into his movie & book “An Inconvenient Truth” but much more elaborated. Lots of personal anecdotes, and good straightforward interpretations of complex science.
Global Warming: The Complete Briefing by John Houghton is a good book that discusses global warming. The book “aims to state the current scientific position on global warming”. It also looks at the impacts and causes of global warming as well as some possible strategies for fighting global warming.
