Timberland, REI, Billabong, and Patagonia all sell eco friendly clothing available at most retail stores.
Ten years ago, Patagonia introduced fleece clothing made of recycled soda bottles. Now Timberland “has come out with the equivalent of nutritional labels for its shoes that tell what’s inside — from recycled rubber to energy used in production.” Two types of Timberland hiking boots have this “nutritional label”. A company called Kavu has created a new line of bamboo, soy and hemp shirts, pullovers and pants at affordable prices.
Also, GoLite makes backpacking shirts made from recycled coconut shells.
Also North Face is a brand for outdoor gear that makes eco-friendly products.
