Some examples of using technology to reduce your carbon footprint are: emailing or saving documents instead of printing them, using motion sensor lights that turn on and off when people enter and leave rooms, installing energy efficiency bulbs, using Energy Star/efficient appliances, calculating your carbon footprint online to see what impact categories you can reduce (in addition to researching greener products and ways of living), driving more efficient cars, using the internet as a means to tell others how to reduce their carbon footprints, plugging electrical outlets into a power strip that you can turn on and off so that products don’t drain energy from the wall outlet, using apps such as GoodGuide at stores to buy the brand/product with the lowest environmental footprint, and there are countless others!
