High levels of smog in cities like Los Angeles, Houston, Dallas, D.C. new York, and Philadelphia. Smog, ozone, is caused primarily by air pollution emitted by automobiles, power plants and industrial boilers. The health effects of smog can be rather deleterious as it can damage lung tissue.
An example of a major pollution problem is the effect such particulates have on our respiratory system. We have created an atmosphere where we have jeopardized our very health.
A new study has shown that it is possible that asthma is contracted in the womb from increased pollution. Pollution related asthma has increased in frequency where industrial emissions exist and in large cities. People with severe asthma can have their breathing problems exacerbated during the times of day with heightened pollutants.
