    It’s also eco-friendly to use LESS detergent.  most laundry detergent companies list their recommended use as higher than it needs to be, because it comes down to a dollar game.  The more you use, the more you have to buy.  You can use 1/2 the amount recommended and still get your clothes just as clean….saving product, $$ and the environment.

    You can even make your own eco-friendly laundry detergent. Skipping the production step saves on a lot of energy and making your own detergent is much cheaper. You only need a few simples things: hot water, washing soda, and bar soap, like ivory. You have to grate the bar soap and then melt it, along with the washing soda, in the hot water. It will end up being a gel consistency.
