What are some of the environmental damages associated with the Haitian earthquake?

The damage to the buildings and structures is widespread, leaving a massive amount of waste to be dealt with. Some of that waste is toxic and poisonous, and is leeching into the soil and the water supply. In addition to cleaning up the mess and taking care of the injured, authorities will need to properly dispose of the toxic waste as best they can, and ensure the people have clean drinking water.
