Any disease that affects the circulatory system is known as a vascular (blood-related) disease. A healthy heart will successfully pump blood through the blood vessels and back through the veins that, together, make up the circulatory system. When the heart is unable to efficiently do this, it may be a sign of vascular disease. Such diseases include: peripheral artery disease, aneurysm, renal (kidney) artery disease, Reynaud’s Phenomenon, Buerger’s Disease, peripheral venous disease, varicose veins, blood clots in the veins, blood clotting disorders, and lymphedema.
