    Some dangerous chemicals found in perfumes include: octinoxate, butylated hydroxytoluene (BHT), galaxoide, and tonalide.

    Here is the first thing I read about chemicals in perfumes,

    “95% of chemicals used in fragrances are synthetic compounds derived from petroleum”.  Therefore most chemicals found in perfumes are derived from that lovable, non-renewable, and poisonous hydrocarbon that we can’t stop mining for.  We know now from extensive research on petroleum and it’s products that it is highly toxic and unsafe for human consumption, as well as it’s innumerable negative effects on the environment and wildlife.


    The link below has a list of the 20 most frequently found chemicals in perfumes and their negative effects.  Many of the chemicals act upon your Central Nervous System (something not to be messed with), or have been proven to be Carcinogenic.

    Pefumes tend to have a lot of Volatile Organic Compounds, also known as VOCs, which can cause a whole host of problems.
