What are some cons to vertical farming?

  1. 0 Votes

Vertical farming requires more research concerning how crops will be grown. Current crops are soil based and require field machines for harvesting. Vertical farming structures would need plants that grow aeroponically and hydroponically to maximize space usage and minimize stress on the physical structure of the building. Another possible con is the method by which vertical farm crops will be grown. Multiple level vertical farms would mean that not each level would receive the same amount and intensity of sunlight for growth and development.
