Common toxins include Phthalates (perfume, nail polish), coal tar hair dyes, and alpha hydroxy acids (skin peeling products).  Phthalates are possible human reproductive or developmental toxins; coal tar hair dyes have been linked to bladder cancer and immune system damage; alpha hydroxy acids act to strip off the outer skin layers, and may lead to increased skin cancer risk, chemical burns, and scarring.
