Common toxins include Phthalates (perfume, nail polish), coal tar hair dyes, and alpha hydroxy acids (skin peeling products). Phthalates are possible human reproductive or developmental toxins; coal tar hair dyes have been linked to bladder cancer and immune system damage; alpha hydroxy acids act to strip off the outer skin layers, and may lead to increased skin cancer risk, chemical burns, and scarring.
The top 10 are: mercury, lead acetate, formaldehyde, toluene, petroleum distillates, ethylacrylate, coal tar (disgusting!), dibutyl phthalate, potassium dichromate and 2-bromo-2-nitropropane-1, 3-diol.
