There are six major types of plastics with different ingredients. Major ingredients in each are:
PET – Polyethylene
The raw materials are petroleum and natural gas for the vast majority of plastics today, but early plastics were made from coal. Others today are made from plant material (cellulose), and other precursors.
So unless you want to get into the elements – hydrogen and carbon — and some plastics also include oxygen, nitrogen, and other elements — then the answer to your question is that there is nothing that is common to ALL plastics. I infer that by “ingredients” you mean things besides the elements hydrogen and carbon.
