Some animals may have innate geometric cognitive abilities that they employ to orient themselves using spatial clues from polarized light or a certain landmark. An animal might not exactly use these talents build a home in a particular location, but it may have a home territory that encompasses a certain region. This animal might use its natural understanding of geometric space to navigate its homeland and other spaces. Studies regarding this type of geometric information have been conducted on vertebrate species including a type of fish, pigeons, chicks, rats, rhesus monkeys and humans; these have found that the geometry navigation abilities do in fact seem to exist. Additional information on this unique topic will be produced as scientific studies continue to be carried out.
