The Sea of Cortez has a wide variety of sea life. You can swim with sharks, sea lions, dolphins and many different species of fish. The only species specific to The Sea of Cortez (and sometime the surrounding oceans), are the Dorado Fish.
There are around 900 species of fish living in the Sea of Cortez. 79 of those species cannot be found anywhere else in the world. It is also home to 34 different kinds of whales and dolphins in the world, the greatest variety in the world. Among these, there is endangered dolphin found nowhere else called the vaquita. The Sea of Cortez is also home to various sharks, rays, invertebrates, and 5 out of the world’s 8 species of marine turtles.
