One natural suggestion is just to go cold turkey. The key to this strategy is to be mentally prepared… you have to really want to quit. Then, replace your smoking habit with another healthier habit. When you want a cigarette, try having a carrot stick, or a piece of sugarless gum.
Good luck, and remember, in the end, it is definitely worth it!
What could be more natural than plants? Tobacco, coffee, cannabis, poppy…they’re all natural. What’s not natural are the effects they have on your body. That’s not an environmental problem. That’s a health problem. Quitting cigaretes is only slightly easier than quitting heroin. You can expect sleeping problems, mood problems, weight problems, energy problems, and worse. The only way I’ve ever seen people successfully get rid of drug habits is by replacing them like George W. Bush did: with a serious exercise routine, sometimes up to 2 hours a day. If you’re lucky, you may only need 1 hour of exercise a day. If you can’t get into or keep up an exercise habit of that magnitude, I can’t imagine you’ll be able to quit nicotine, or least not without replacing it with some other drug or negative health issue. Good luck.
It is very true that the problems are health related. Exercise is a very good activity to kick the body into gear and begin to reverse the damage done to your body by smoking. It also has numerous other benefits. Using a replacement, such as sugarless gum, in combination with a healthy diet and exercise routine is sure to kick the habit!
Another all-natural method to try is hypnosis. Hypnosis is a form of concentrated relaxation aimed at controlling stress and changing attitudes toward smoking.
