Solar facades are a side of the building that has solar paneling. They blend the solar power units into the building design. It is more “aesthetically” appealing than having the solar panels on the roof.
Solar facades work both on a building’s facade or roof. They capture and diffuse natural light, which reduces the need for artificial lighting. They also use the solar energy captured to heat buildings or to cool them, even for keeping refrigerators cool. The wall is constructed as a lens which concentrates the solar power onto a PV cell. This maximizes the cells energy uptake.
