Hydrogen sulfide gas, commonly known as sewer gas, is a byproduct of sewage. If a human is to breathe in this gas at low levels, they will experience extreme fatigue, dizziness, headaches, irritability, and memory less. A high-level exposure of this gas can lead to loss of consciousness, coma, seizures and even death. In some cases, people can experience central nervous stimulation after exposure to hydrogen sulfide gas. Symptoms include excitation, rapid breathing and headaches.
