what are second order carnivores

A first order consumer is an animal that just eats plants or non-animals for its food. A second order consumer eats a first order consumer. This makes a second order consumer a carnivore. If another carnivore ate the first carnivore that would make it a second order. The “second order” part just comes from being higher up in the food chain. A fish would be a first order consumer, a seal would be a second order consumer or first order carnivore and a shark would be a second order carnivore.
