A company called GM has genetically modified salmon to grow full-size in half the typical amount of time. The FDA is supposedly on the verge of approving the commercial sale of these fish, which will be “plentiful and cheaper.” The commercialization of the genetically modified fish has been met with a lot of resistance from some groups of interest. Some believe genetic modification is unethical altogether, and scientific opponents say that if the modified fish are exposed to wild waters it could have damaging effects on the food chain. I assume this is the “supersalmon” you are referring to, but please correct me if I’m wrong.
