The rubber manufacturers themselves are trying reduce waste in the forming process, and also trying reap materials from alternate sources like particular species of plants that are used for latex, a softer dubber product. An increasing trend is recycling old rubber from tires and other used products for reuse in future products. We as consumers can do more by doing our best to recycle any rubber products we have to maximize the supply of reusable rubber and latex products. Just as with any other item being recycled, it begins with us, and the companies will follow suit in order to comply with ever-changing environmental standards.
