Besides being a member of the association and passing an inspection, products with the label must meet more than 30 standards in categories like grazing and confinement, supplementation, health and welfare and tracking. Some of the notable requirements are a 100 percent plant-based diet, no injection of hormones, access to the area where their food is grown during growing season and animals must not be fed in confinement for more than 30 days a year.
