What are recycled modular materials?

Modular buildings are simply buildings that are prefabricated in a factory instead of built on site.  Using recycled materials for these homes is a growing trend, and  can include many different sources and be used for many different functions.  A few examples: reclaimed glass for windows and counter tops, wire mesh from auto parts for screens, post-consumer plastic for walls.  There are a lot of options and ideas out there, organizations like Project Frog and Reconditioned Systems Inc are just two that are utilizing the recycled materials available.
