I assume you are referring to tectonic or continent plates, which are the fragments of rock that compose the Earth’s surface. Plate boundaries would be where these pieces meet. There are different ways that these plates can interact at the boundary; one can slide under the other (subduction), they can slide past each other, or they can move apart (spreading). These boundaries are the regions where there is the most seismic and volcanic activity due to the friction these movements cause.
